Expectation
Is letting go, a reward spread out:
Sometimes it needs to die
Breaking open what I waited with so patiently
Pouring out opportunity to forget
And so I hold my breath
For anticipation to live.
Maybe you are not safe
You seemed a friend, yet became a chain
Holding the past ransom
Maybe it holds you down
The weight of it unseen:
So I put love in a box, and wrap this gift
I stop searching for clues, because
you are worth waiting for.
