The Open Door

In the craziness of life and the tired moments
drive me to desperation for You (or why am I here?)
don't let boredom have its reign.
where are the tears when I open this book?
I know it's full of answers

Make a spot on the carpet for me
on my knees or on my face
where else should I be
but retreating in the sweet presence?

I know You are closer than I imagine
I won't hold You away
I must fold You into every thought
(or I lose my peace in myself).
come with me to every place
speaking in mysteries for as long as I'll listen
Your love won't let go
So why do I forget?

  1. hey Ashley, it's been a while. I saw a picture of you the other day from my wedding and i was thinking I should check in on how you are doing. I love this poem by the way. it's so intimate.
