why does time sneak by so quickly when i'm asleep
and is so patiently still while I wait for you
the world weighs the same, if I carry it or let it go
You delight in me night and day
the rain falls and the earth renews with life
the same as before
never needing touch ups

and yet You see me, clearer
than the oceans
sometimes beautiful
always just right
nearly complete
if only I saw You for who you are
I wouldn't scratch at these scars of memories
I wouldn't try to fit in their box
or try to find that perfect someone
the search always fails
until I come back to you.
insecure, but loved
uncertain, yet at peace
full of heart
longing for righteousness.
