Hab. 2:2-3

I thought I heard a voice behind me
I turned to see stillness, waiting to be filled
in this silence I don't see you
yet I'm striving to hear, knowing I need it
Let me hear your voice just once
all I need is just one word
I cling to it, overwhelmed
nothing can fit my heart but that whisper
nothing breaks the walls down like your love
I lean on it, speechless with thankfulness

all temporal love is second best

craving a repeated reassurance
of a truth I already know
I listen to the wind
painting patterns of wisdom within your voice
blowing backwards around my perspective
